The following mission(s) will introduce you to Logos, the technological force that drives this sci-fi universe. You will learn how to obtain
Logos, the advantages of looking for Logos, and how cool it can be to use Logos to kick someone's ass!
Bootcamp Mission : The Power of Logos
Talk to Specialist Vance. She will explain that you are a "Receptive" or a Receptor. Apparently not everyone can use Logos, but guess
what...you can! She sends you to find a Logos node nearby.
Head out through the other gate (the east gate according to your mini-map). The path is pretty straight forward, so just go accross the bridge and into the cavern. Stop when you see an entrance with two big alien towers.
You should aggro the Dissector and his two boyfriends, so take out your rifle and snipe them from behind the towers. You don't want to aggro the other mobs up front. I would suggest taking out the none named mobs (aka the boyfriends) before taking on the Dissector. Make sure to loot the Dissector's corpse to get the mission item he drops (Dissector's Head). You can do this by going up to his dead body and pressing "T". Alternatively you can run over his corpse to auto-loot it.
Up ahead are the last two mobs in the cavern. You can either snipe them or blow them into tiny pieces with your shotgun.
Continue onwards to the hill with the alien looking structures on it. On the hill you will find the Logos "Power". To get the Logos, press "T" when you are clsoe to it.
The other alien structure should activate and you should see a holographic Eloh. She will give a little history lesson on the Logos and the Eloh.
The next objective requires you to equip your new ability, Lightning. Access your Skills window and drag the Lightning ability to the Ability Tray. To toggle between abilities, you can use the "E" key. Alternatively you can click on it or use the number keys assigned to the slot.
Once equipped, go back the way you came. Oh noes! You got company! Not to worry, you can easily take them out with your rifle. Take out the non-named mobs first and then move on to the Collector. Hmm, well apparently he is immune to physical damage (the type of damage your current rifle falls under). Target him and use your lightning ability. Well he isn't immune to that!
It may be good to note that enemies are weak toward certain damage types and may be resistant or even immune to others.
Make sure to loot the Collector's Head before returning to the outpost and turning it in to Specialist Vance.
