Tabula Rasa Online : Home

Update - July 3rd, 2008
This month has been a tough month over here. We're so busy doing other secondary projects and real-life commitments that we've had to slow down on game time. Here are the patch notes for the patch that came out last week (Deployment 9). Hopefully we'll be able to play around with the new changes more.

Update - May 27th, 2008
Great news! Those looking for a trial key to test Tabula Rasa out can get it from MMORPG.COM. Tabula Rasa is a good game; it just needs a little bit more work on some of the mechanics and some end-game content.

Update - May 19th, 2008
Deployment 8 (aka Patch 8.0) has been released. Unfortunately, due to other commitments, we have not been able to test out the new patch. Here are the patch notes anyways.

Update - April 28th, 2008
Surprise, surprise! Seems like they decided to go ahead and go live with the 1.7 patch today during maintenance. I don't think they had initially intended to. Here are the latest 1.7 patch notes I could find on (from the Test Server).

It looks like they added changes to the Ranger and Spy skill sets. I like the improvement to the skill formerly known as Carpet Bombing, but I'm not sure about the changes to Reinforcements.

Update - March 27th, 2008
Huge updated today. Some of the major changes include the way CPs and their rewards work, Sniper class Torqueshell Rifle changes, killing streak XP bonus, and Experience Boosters (increased XP by 50% for 30 mins). You can check out the majority of the patch notes here.

With all the updates and bug fixes, I hope they add more missions (many more!). Alot of times, it's hard to find groups for instances...so you'd either try to solo them or move to the next area and then come back later, but that just means less XP. Since it gives less XP, it seems to cause your leveling rate to stagnate and you fall behind. The missions become increasingly difficult because of how low you are and you can't continue as intended. They really need more filler/Overlap/Junk Missions to fill in the gap. More missions than we will need (to level all the way to 50)! The lower levels have quite a bit of overlap, but not quite enough...though compared to the higher level maps, it is more 'complete'. This issue has been bugging me for awhile. Sorry for the rant.

Update - March 4th, 2008
Looks like the slew of patches has stopped. You can check out the main patch notes here.

Updates will be kinda slow for awhile here (lol as if it hasn't been already). Once major changes have settled down like class changes, mission changes, etc, we'll bring back info updates.

Update - January 30th, 2008
The new patch has been rolled out to the live servers. You can check out the patch notes here.

There are some new stuff in there that are pretty cool, but there are others that aren't. For example, auctions are limited to 30 per person at any one time. One major change (besides the hybrid race thing) is cloning now resets attribute points as well as skill points. Previously, it would only reset skill points. Still, I wish that they would add an npc or something that would help you reset your skills, attributes, etc (without the ability to change class of course...cause that would make the whole cloning thing moot).

Update - January 18th, 2008
We've been refining the map location system and database. We've still got a ways to go before we can launch it. Thanks to all who have been submitting bugs and errors to us...it's been a great help. We put up all the Logos locations and you can check them out here. They were based off of the coordinates we took, plus the coordinates from Tabula Wiki and Logos Atlas. Make sure to check those sites out for updated information.

You can see the new test server patch notes for patch 1.4 here. Looks like there are a ton of core fundamental game play and character changes again...and I think there will be an attribute reset too. There will be a special black dye rewarded to players who test the patch on the PTS on Monday, January 21st.

Also, you can download soundbytes off of the official site. The soundbytes include different base announcements, AFS and Bane warcries (aka 'battle grunts') and a ton of other sounds. You can download the soundbytes at this link.

Update - December 16th, 2007
I was looking for a present for someone, and decided, 'Hey maybe I'll wean him off of another MMORPG and get him Tabula Rasa!' I had thought that the price drop for Tabula Rasa was pretty much everywhere, but to my surprise, I only found it at Amazon.com. Maybe it's a special price or something, but we thought we'd let you know just in case it's seasonal. Also, they still have Collector's Editions in stock; I bought a copy a couple days ago. Other stores have it at $49.99 for the regular version, but Amazon.com has the Collector's Edition for $29.99. You can see the updated prices below.

Update - December 12th, 2007
A nice patch has been released! Why is it nice? Well because it makes Attas weaker (but not less annoying). We played around with the patch for a bit, but we found that most of us were setting up auctions and buying stuff from the auction house...i mean 'Military Surplus' instead of testing the other changes. Yup, that's right, we finally have the Military Surplus up! I almost drained all the credits on the test character I was assigned to. Oops. In short, it's clunky still (why oh why is the scrollbar on the LEFT side of the interface?) but oh so much fun. For more info, check out the patch notes on the official site.

Update - December 5th, 2007
First of all, we need to apologize for the lack of updates. The reason is that we've been working to bring you a coordinate mapping system for Tabula Rasa Logos, points of interests, NPCs, etc. We've launched a live beta version of the system but we need your help to test it as we add more locations and more functions to it. You can check out the Logos coordinates portion here. Send in your thoughts and suggestions on improving the system through our contact page.

We are also in the process of getting more videos and walkthroughs together for you guys. So watch out for that in the future!

Update - November 28th, 2007
The Rage ability is our favorite ability and we were sadden to hear that it was getting a major nerf-bat to the face. Hopefully it won't gimp us too much, but I'm sure the Dev Team will figure out a way to balance it out efficiently. Right now, it is slated to have different buffs at different pumps and the cast speed has been increased to make it faster. Check out this article for more information.

Update - November 22nd, 2007
We're just dropping in to say Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at PlayTabulaRasaOnline.com. Have a good one; spend it with your family and not playing all day.

Descent has some lag issues, but the Dev Team has released a sort of 'workaround' to the problem. You can find the workaround on the Common Questions page.

Update - November 19th, 2007
Various updates in the world of Tabula Rasa over the past few days. First, we have the Tabula Rasa Referral Program. Refer a friend and you can get a paid month FREE! Check out the official website for more details.

The good reviews keep on rolling in! Tabula Rasa has been out for a couple of weeks now, and so far, the majority of the reviews have been very positive. Rumor has it that some even dare to say that it's better than *gasp* World of Warcraft! You're free to form your own opinions, so go grab the game and check it out yourself.

There was also a huuuuugggeee client side patch last week. Alot of missions across the board were fixed as well as a ton of glitches. You can read the patch notes here, on the official Tabula Rasa Website.

Remember folks, if you have a Tabula Rasa fansite or resource site, go ahead and click here to submit the link for review. We generally do not accept links from gaming sites that do not have a substantial / dedicated Tabula Rasa section or Podcasts / Radio Shows that do not focus on Tabula Rasa.

Update - November 12th, 2007
Some of you guys may have noticed 'ninja updates' over the weekend. By that we mean updates that we didn't actually announce, but went live. In addition to those ninja updates, we've updated the Area and Instance Maps section. Basically a simple map viewer/browser that allows you to see the areas. We plan to incorporate that into something else we have in the pipeline *wink*.

Tabula Rasa has been live for a few weeks now (including the preorder period). Lots of good reviews rolling in, and tons of word-of-mouth rundowns by different people puts Tabula Rasa in a good light. Let's see some more good reviews (because obviously the negative reviewers are lying through their teeth)!

Players can now play on the Tabula Rasa Public Test Servers. The test servers will test the patch and changes that are going to take place. This allows you, the player, to give comments to the dev team about the new changes and if there are additional glitches/errors. For more information, check out this post on the Official Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa website. Our team hasn't tested out the test server yet (because we've been working hard on ninja updates!) but we will definitely log on and test drive some of the new changes.

Update - November 8th, 2007
Adding to the UI / Interface sections, we've put together a Chat Window breakdown and added it to the section. The Chat Window is as simple as typing and pressing enter. However, to enhance your 'chatting / socializing experience' you can use a number of options to customize the Chat Window to your needs. Head over to the UI / Interface section to check out the quick run through of the Chat Window's more advanced options.

We've added some basic weapon information to the site. It gives a basic rundown on what weapons are available and how to use them effectively.

Update - November 7th, 2007
Just dropping by to give you a quick update. We've added some new links to the community links page, and added to our UI/Interface section. Of course, there's more to come on that front. We've also added a solution to the Wilderness Lag that everyone experiences when they first jump into the game. Ya, it's an 'oh-duh' answer to the question.

We've added the video page to the site. It has links to our Tabula Rasa videos on YouTube, but in the future we will host some higher quality videos on our site when we need it.

"...I've got a watch..."

Update - November 3rd, 2007
People have been asking for a "Character Builder" of sorts for Tabula Rasa so, thanks to a few helpful hands, we added a link to one. Haven't tested it out completely, but it seems to have everything you'd need and it is getting pretty good comments on it. You can find it on the links page.

Okay, seems like alot of newer players ask, "How do you take out the Bane Mortar Cannons?" Sometimes the simple answer, "Use and EMP Bomb" doesn't cut it. So we made this quick video and posted it on YouTube so you can see how it is done. You can view the instructions and the "How to take out the Bane Mortar Cannons" video by visiting the YouTube link or watching the video below.

Update - November 2nd, 2007
WOO-HOO! Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa officially goes on sale today. Pick up your copy and join the war. Remember, Pre-order keys have a grace period that will allow you to enter your retail key later. Don't panic if you can't grab your copy today.

We saw some "Boo-Bots" floating around today that were from the collector's edition of Tabula Rasa. Here's a front and back shot of it.

We've also updated the Bootcamp Mission page. Gives you some info on skipping the tutorial and where about's the "Power" Logos is outside the Bootcamp instance.

Just got back from the store and the only copies of Tabula Rasa they had were Collector's Edition. I must say, it is a very nicely done package. I do wish I was able to get a T-Shirt, but I didn't get one. Maybe if I dig deeper, I'll find one in this tiny CE box...

Update - November 1st, 2007
AH-MAZ-ING! I was talking to someone earlier today that was level 29 already. A level 29 commando. In any case, he was really helpful when asked about missions and stuff. Makes me kind of suspect that he's a developer...

Some stores have the game on the shelves today, even though it doesn't officially release until tomorrow. Get ready to grab your official copies and greet the new comers!

"Critters", the Tabula Rasa Community Coordinator, has added our site to the official Tabula Rasa website's fansite list! We'd like to welcome the guys that are joining us from there. As usual, if there are any comments or concerns, contact us and we'll get you squared away.

We've updated the Logos List/Chart to show all the Logos. We'll do some more edits to it as more information rolls in.

Update - October 31st, 2007
General British logged on to the Orion server to talk with us and answer some of our questions. Once again, it is obvious that Orion is his favorite server! He also announced that PvP Ladders were on the official site. Apparently he's going to space next year; a well deserved trip I do think. PLAY TABULA RASA UP THERE WITH US (lol @ lag)! Some other tidbits he dropped were, player vehicles, military surplus, the class Richard Garriott plays is a Medic, and various other goodies.

Halloween event ended tonight. Someone suggested that when the game officially launches, we should stand in Alia Das with our masks on and get a buncha people to message us asking where we got our masks. 9 masks in all, and I got them all. Also got the screens/videos to write up a tutorial for next year's Halloween event (assuming it's similar or the same as this year's).

If you're new to Tabula Rasa, you should head over to the Bootcamp walkthrough and Common Questions sections. They will help you guys act less....n00bish.

Update - October 30th, 2007
Wow, seems like everyone and their mom decided to go with the Orion server. Hell I went with the Orion server...

In any case, it's the first time I've seen Divide (1) so empty. The spawns are crazy fast since there are hardly any people, which made getting to Rotting Sal real hard last night.

We'll be updating sporadically throughout the day, but like everyone else, we're trying to get to a decent level first!

Here are links to some YouTube videos we took during the End of Beta event. We had to repel the invading Bane, kill the General British clones (and the mini-britishs), and also take down the real General British who was under Bane control. The Taula Rasa Dev team played the clones ( and I suspect that some played Bane Officers as well...) and General British was played by Richard Garriott himself!

End of Beta Event : Attack on the Cormon base in Palisides.
End of Beta Event : General Britfist, a clone, attacking players.
End of Beta Event : The real General British, stops with lag! The last few minutes of Beta.
Update - October 29th, 2007
9:30PM CST. What does that mean? It's GO TIME for Pre-order accounts. We get a 3 day head start to level our characters and get out of the n00b zones before the retail rush. Initially I thought we were supposed to log on at 12:01AM on the 30th but they jumped the gun and got it up early! No complaints here. What a way to spend Halloween. Speaking of Halloween, make sure to do the holiday missions to get the /trickortreat emote and the various masks! The R&R Coordinators for the various areas offer different masks. The missions are repeatable, so you can get all the masks you want!

End of Beta was pretty cool. In case you guys missed it, it was October 26th 10:00pm CST - October 27th, 12:01am CST. We killed alot of General British clones, and Mini-General Britishs, but the real General British used an unexpected human weapon against us. LAG! General Darkstarr was quite upset.

Remember your new emote /cutthroat. Only available to those accounts that took part in the EoB event.

- See you guys in game!

Update - October 25th, 2007
This site will launch with the pre-order head start run. Collecting all sorts of Intel and Data to help you defeat the Bane (and with HP to spare)!
